This is how it works:
We talk about it
We make a plan
The work gets done - solo or in partnership
We talk about it some more
We keep at the things that are working so things stay the way they are intended to be
*Deeper more meaningful life skills acquired
Coaching:
-Creative Problem Solving - with a focus on domestics and the creative process
-Quality of Homelife and Worklife Balance
-Transitional Periods: home transitions, deaths, separation, new family members
Consulting and Labor Services:
-Domestic Logistics: deep decluttering focusing on the health and balance of the person and household
-Relocating: deep decluttering, packing, mindfully moving in, setting up new habits and organizational structures
-Family or Personal Reset: Restructuring of household and family dynamics with a focus on the tangible space, but not excluding addressing the habits within
The work is for everyone.
For those who feel like they can’t keep up or that the stuff is overwhelming, so is the maintenance. For those who see that the relationships within the home regarding domestics need to be tended to, parenting around domestics is a challenge, the work-life/home-life balance could be better, honing in skills will maximize efficiency, and modern home economics lessons will be a game-changer.
I am a Philadelphia-based author, coach, organizational consultant, multidisciplinary artist, and owner of Volta Naturals.
My work began with helping people analyze and reveal ways to achieve a more sustainable, gender-equitable, and sacred space within the home. It has now evolved to include a broader vision of where we want to be and what we want to do in our lives, then set ourselves on the path we want to be on.
Specializing in transitional periods of life, I help from the practical to the metaphysical. We can explore as deep as you’d like, but we also understand that we have to take a good look at the mess right in front of us and do something about it.
In addition to my professional mission, I wrote a feminist domestics advice column for the Philadelphia-based sustainability publication Grid Magazine for three years before self-publishing my book Confessions of a Cleaning Lady.
While writing my column, I aired my first radio show out of G-Town Radio, Confessions of a Cleaning Lady. Shortly after, I launched The Everyday Feminist, where my co-host and I discuss where relationships, feminism, and mental health collide.
Stretching out of my business and into my community, I also worked within the local politics of domestic workers’ rights in Philadelphia by serving on the Philadelphia Domestic Workers Bill of Rights Task Force.
I am also a Co-Founder of The Hermitage Philadelphia, establishing a retreat center for community mental health professionals in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. My strong belief in cultivating healing spaces within our homes has led me to the mission of establishing a public home for caregivers to be nourished.
I aim to, home by home, work to establish places where people feel…. good. And center around the life-giving aspects of what our domestic and relational lives have to bless us with. So our lives can be a blessing.
